ABOUT TOA MATA BAND

The Toa Mata Band, created in 2013 by the Italian sound designer and music producer Giuseppe Acito, is known as the first LEGO® music robots orchestra, made of vintage Bionicle figures. Each band member is built using LEGO Bionicle pieces, a system of electric motors, rubber bands, and pulleys connected to the figure’s arms which allow them to play a rig of different touchable synthesizers, drum machines, smartphones, and acoustic percussions.

Toa Mata Band was featured on some of the most respected webzines about music, innovation technologies, and art including Wired, The Creators Project, Arduino, Make Magazine, Discovery News, Mixmag, FACT Magazine, Elecronicbeats, DJ MAG, RollingStone, and many more.
